Length: In our length lab we learned the formula for volume and also surface area. Then we estimated the volume of our locker and then actually measured it.
Volume: In our volume lab we learned the SI units for volume which is liters. We also learned about water displacement and how to measure volume using water displacement.
Mass: In our mass lab we learned that the SI units for mass is grams. Then we learned that to measure mass you would use a triple beam balance.After that we used the tripe beam balance to measure the mass of a metal prism.

Cars and Ramps

First, we found the height of the ramp by finding the height of the starting and finish point and then subtracting them from one another. After that, we foud the weight of the car by finding the mass and then multiplying it by the gravitational force which was 9.8. Then, we found the potential energy of the car by mutilying the height of the ramp by the weight of the car. The potential energy was 0.019453 joules.

Heat lab

hands do not measure temperature well.
Hands measure heat-the transfer of energy between objects that are different temperatures.
Thermal equilibrium- the point at which two objects reach the same temperature. the objects in the room are the same temperature as the air in the room.
Temperature-the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object

Prediction: I believe that because their hand was colder the temperature of the tubs seemed more extreme than they actually were. So, hand was warmer which made .2 c seem like a couple of degrees. Energy went from tub of hot water to hand and then energy went from hand to the tub of cold water. Heat is the transfer of energy from a high temperature to a low temperature between two objects.

Thermal Expansion-A matters change in volume in response to a change in temperature.

My chemical element is an alkaline earth metal and my family is very reactive. Other chemical families that ive heard of are earth metals, nonmetals, metalloids, halogens, noble gases, pnictogens, chalcogens.
Halogen- reactive nonmetals and reacted with potassium and made solid products
Noble Gases-inert non reactive gases (non metals)
